Restructuring (ऋण पुनर्गठन)
Restructuring means the lender formally changes your loan terms — longer tenure, lower EMI, or a payment pause — because you cannot service the original schedule. It beats defaulting, but the account is flagged "restructured" on your report, which lenders read as stress.
Worked example
A ₹60,000 loan at ₹5,500 EMI becomes unaffordable after a job loss; the lender extends the tenure so the EMI drops to ₹3,200. You pay more total interest over the longer period, and the restructured tag stays on the report.
