Credit enquiry (क्रेडिट पूछताछ (इन्क्वायरी))
A credit enquiry is the record created when a lender requests your report from a bureau, and hard enquiries triggered by formal applications appear on your report. Many hard enquiries in a short window make you look credit-hungry and can shave points off your score.
Worked example
You formally apply to 5 lenders in one week: 5 hard enquiries land on your report and your score may dip a few points per enquiry. Checking offers via a soft pull first — CIBIL pe zero impact — avoids this.
