Salary advance (वेतन अग्रिम)
A salary advance is a short-term loan sized against your monthly salary and typically repaid in one shot or a few instalments after payday, offered by RBI-regulated lenders or via employers. It suits genuine cash-flow gaps, but check the APR and total cost, since short tenures make percentage costs annualise steeply.
Worked example
Salary ₹35,000, you take a ₹10,000 advance for 30 days at 0.09% per day: interest ₹270 + processing fee ₹236 incl GST = total cost ₹506, repaying ₹10,506 on payday. Annualised that is roughly 61% APR — workable as a one-off, expensive as a habit.
