KFS (Key Fact Statement) (मुख्य तथ्य विवरण (केएफएस))
The Key Fact Statement is a standardised disclosure RBI requires before you accept any digital loan, showing the APR, all fees, the repayment schedule, penal charges, the cooling-off period and grievance officer contacts. Any charge not listed in the KFS cannot legally be collected from you at any stage of the loan.
Worked example
Before accepting a ₹15,000 loan your KFS shows: processing fee ₹354 incl GST, 3 EMIs of ₹5,202, total repayment ₹15,606, APR ≈ 38%, penal charge ₹250 per missed EMI, a cooling-off period, and the GRO's contact. If a "documentation charge" appears later that is not in the KFS, you can refuse to pay it.
